Making Maraschino Cherries

Jon, my husband, loves Old Fashioned’s (a drink made from bourbon, maraschino cherries, sugar, orange and bitters).  We had discussed waiting until cherry season make them, but then I remembered that there are frozen cherries! Maraschino cherries started becoming popular in the late 19th century. Pike Place Market Food Tour

This Saturday, I decided to run down to Pike Place Market to go to some places that I have never been. Whenever I go to the market, I stick to my faves – Piroshki Piroshki, the mini donut place, Le Pichet, Zig Zag, Steelhead Diner to name a few.
